CDMS brings together deep commodity market expertise and full technical delivery — designing, building, and implementing the systems that trading, research, and risk teams actually rely on.
Start a conversationHow we work
A recurring problem in commodity technology projects is that the people who understand the business cannot build the systems, and the people who build the systems do not understand the business. Information breaks down across departments, requirements get lost in translation, and the final product misses the mark.
CDMS closes that gap. We can sit with a trader and talk positions, PnL or margin calls. We can sit with an IT team and talk database schemas, APIs, and infrastructure. That fluency — in both directions — is what makes projects deliver.
You work with the people doing the work. No account managers, no briefing chains, no requirements lost between departments. What you say is what gets built.
In commodity trading, decisions happen in real time. The systems we build reflect that — live positions, immediate data access, and workflows designed around how traders actually work, not how risk systems think they should.
From the first requirements conversation to go-live and beyond. CDMS works with a network of specialist partners when needed — but one team owns the outcome from start to finish.
What we do
Engagements range from focused advisory work to multi-year implementation projects. Every mandate begins with understanding how your business actually operates — not with a standard template.
End-to-end design and build of commodity trading and risk management systems — from contract capture and position management to P&L, logistics, and reporting.
Centralised data infrastructure, automated pipelines, and clean data structures that replace fragmented spreadsheets and manual processes across your organisation.
Interactive dashboards and automated reporting for research and analytics teams — price data, SnD, trade flows, weather data and your proprietary datasets.
Position reporting, Value at Risk, counterparty exposure (PFE, CVA), and the frameworks that give risk managers the tools they need to proactively manage risk exposures.
Mapping, rethinking, and rebuilding the operational workflows that sit between your trading activity and your data — reducing errors, duplication, and the operational incidents that cost real money.
For teams evaluating new systems or deciding on data and technology strategy. CDMS brings the commodity context that generic technology advisors cannot.
Selected work
The trading desk needed a lightweight system to track contracts and positions in real time — fast enough to support live trading decisions, not the next-day reporting cycle that risk and finance systems typically provide. What started as a position management tool evolved, based on the depth of data captured, into the central logistics platform that the business now runs on.
A geographically dispersed research team was working with fragmented data — the same datasets duplicated across groups, no standard formats, and no reliable way to share work between offices in different time zones. Analysts spent significant time maintaining spreadsheets rather than doing research.
